Nat W, 2018 :Full time Chef here. « Added this piece to my knife roll and am very pleased. Very balanced and functional. The handle adds enough weight to make the knife work for you. I initially thought the « Pearl » near the bolster would get annoying, but it feels natural. This knife arrives sharp and is a pleasure to use for hours at a time. Quality is on par with knives twice the cost ».
Bullman Z, 2015 : « Very misunderstood knife thats actually one of the best ever if sharpened properly. Own about every brand of Japanese knife out there and always come back to this brand as my daily driver« .
Sourcehound, 2015 :The King of Knives is Dead, Long Live the Chroma!
« The Chroma knife is off the charts good. Perfect – no learning curve and so so sharp. This knife looks incredible and is very, very sharp. The balance is absolutely perfect. As sharp as Japanese knives that cost twice as much. I am in love.«
Joseph A. Durante III, 2015 : This knife is like cutting with a laser!!
An outstanding Knife. Beautiful, nice weight, well balanced and sharp as a laser!! Be sure to read the specs on it so you don’t damage it. You should never use it again a steel and you’ll want to get the proper corresponding ceramic stone to maintain it. I’ve worked 4/5 star kitchens for over 30 years and these knives are my favorites. Bar none!
CF : travaille depuis 30 ans dans la restauration et ce couteau est devenu son favori.
Dionysos, 2015 :I hold the knife that from 2004 treats even today : I hold the knife that from 2004 treats even today 2015! 11 years of hard work.I f I have paid hundreds of dollars for Japanese or German knives, and having a casket over 2000 dollars is my first choice! To say that he did not ever hard callus on the hands as have many Those who have GLOBAL. As a professional chef I guarantee you that you will not regret it ever! I’m sure I will buy again a small set of them knives .. but I’m afraid I have still much to cut the veterans in my casket.
Eric, 2013: Best professional chef knifeI bought my chroma two years ago, I work in a very high pace kitchen, and my knife is still a razor. I love this knfe because it stays sharp, sharper then my shuns. It is also as a good weight to it. I have wustoff and henckles and this knife outperforms them by a long shot. It has a great feel to it as well. Not a flimsy or light weight Asian knife you wed to worry about breaking either. Best knife for your buck hands down
ajandsarah en 2013 : have had this knife for a year but held off on reviewing because I couldn’t love it – the factory edge was terrible. However, I just sharpened the knives – huge difference, and I’m now comfortable giving this a 5-star rating. Purchase a whetstone with the knife (sharpening is fast, easy, and something you’ll want to do fairly often if you cook much anyway). PROS: – beautiful, minimalist design – hygienic, easy to clean – amazing balance in hand – great for teaching (while instructing cooking class students how to properly use a chef’s knife, I found that the guide « pearls » really helped them learn how to correctly pinch grip)
CF : met l’accent sur le fait qu’on n’en attend pas moins du standing F.A. Porsche.
Alex G, 2007 : The best knife ever
« This is the absolute BEST KNIFE I have ever used. I do have that other « famous maker » German knives set but discovered that Chroma knives are FAR SUPERIOR!!! They cut through everything like butter, but the best part is ERGONOMICS. They truly mold to your palm and are extremely comfortable for all tasks: chopping, slicing, mincing, dicing. Try one – and you’ll understand ».
Amazon Customer : Best Expensive Knife You’ll Ever PurchaseBeautiful packaging–the edges of the box are beveled! This is by far one of the most beautiful knives I’ve ever used. It’s hefty yet elegant, and fits right in your hand. Super sharp and precise. The stand-alone balancing feature is the most amazing part of this knife. I plan on purchasing the entire set in the future.
